What Is Part 2 Of Wicked Going To Be About
Okay, so you’re probably itching to know what’s coming next with Wicked, right? Like, we all saw the first movie, and it was amazing! But now… the big question is what’s Part Two gonna be about? It’s like waiting for the next season of your favorite show, but way more… green.
Seriously though, we’ve all been theorizing. Does Elphaba finally embrace her inner wickedness? Does Glinda… well, does Glinda stay good? Or is it more complicated than that? Because, let’s be honest, with these two, it’s always more complicated.
So, pour yourself another cup of coffee, or whatever your beverage of choice is, and let’s dish. Because I’ve been doing some serious digging, and by digging I mean scrolling through fan theories and articles like a madwoman. And I think we’ve got a pretty good idea of what’s heading our way.
First off, we have to talk about the ending of Part One. Elphaba, our favorite misunderstood witch, basically goes on the run. She’s framed, she’s probably a little bit furious, and she’s definitely not going back to Shiz anytime soon. And Glinda? Poor Glinda is left in Oz, with the Wizard and all his… shenanigans.
This is where the real drama kicks in, people! We’re talking about Elphaba’s transformation. Is she going to lean into being the “wicked” witch? Or is she going to be fighting for her own kind of justice? Because let’s face it, the world was pretty unfair to her, wasn’t it?
And Glinda! Oh, Glinda. She’s going to have to make some tough choices. She’s been so focused on being popular and fitting in. But now, her bestie is out there, being chased by a mob with pitchforks (or maybe just angry villagers with torches). She can’t just sit back and sing pretty songs anymore.
We’re definitely going to see more of the Wizard’s true colors, aren’t we? He’s not exactly the benevolent leader everyone thought he was. He’s manipulative, he’s a bit of a con artist, and he’s definitely got an agenda. And Elphaba saw right through him. Go Elphaba!
So, Part Two is going to be all about the fallout from Elphaba’s escape. Think secret meetings, hidden allies, and probably a whole lot of running and hiding. She’s not going to be able to just chill in a cottage somewhere. This is Oz, after all. Things don’t exactly work that way.
And what about the Lion? The Cowardly Lion? We got a little taste of him in Part One, and I’m already invested. Is he going to find his courage? Is he going to team up with Elphaba? Because that would be epic. Imagine those two causing trouble together.
The narrative is going to shift, big time. Part One was all about setting the scene, showing us how Elphaba and Glinda became who they are. But Part Two is going to be about the consequences. It’s going to be about the choices they make and how those choices affect Oz.
We're probably going to see Elphaba developing her powers even further. Like, she's already got some serious magical chops, but imagine what she can do when she's really motivated. She's going to be a force to be reckoned with. No doubt about it.
And Glinda, she’s going to be caught in the middle. She loves Elphaba, but she also wants to be accepted by Oz. Can she have both? That’s the million-dollar question, isn’t it? Her loyalty is going to be tested. Like, really tested.
We’re also likely to get a deeper dive into the history of Oz and its magical inhabitants. Who else is out there? Are there other witches, other magical creatures? Because Oz is a big place, and I’m sure there’s more to it than just the Emerald City and the Munchkinland.
Think about the classic story of The Wizard of Oz. We know how that ends, right? Dorothy defeats the Wicked Witch of the West. But in Wicked, we’re seeing the other side of that story. So, Part Two is going to have to bring those two narratives together in some way.
Will Elphaba embrace the "Wicked Witch of the West" moniker? Or will she fight against that label too? Because she’s not inherently evil. She’s just… different. And misunderstood. So misunderstood.
The stakes are going to be so much higher. It's not just about Elphaba and Glinda's friendship anymore. It's about the fate of Oz. It's about truth versus propaganda. It's about challenging the established order.
We’ll probably see more of Madame Morrible, too. She’s not exactly a friend, is she? She’s a master manipulator, and I’m sure she’s got big plans. And those plans probably don't involve Elphaba being happy.
And Fiyero! Oh, Fiyero. Where is he going to end up? He was clearly drawn to Elphaba’s spirit. Will he choose sides? Will he be her protector? I’m really hoping he does. He seems like a good guy, despite his initial… swagger.
The music is going to be a huge part of it, obviously. We’ve already got some amazing songs. I can only imagine what they’re going to come up with for the rest of the story. Imagine Elphaba singing a power ballad about her injustice. Goosebumps!
And Glinda? She’ll have her own moments to shine, I’m sure. Maybe a song about her internal conflict, or a powerful ballad about standing up for what’s right. She’s got a good heart, even if she’s a bit shallow sometimes.
We’re going to see the seeds of the future being sown. Like, how does Elphaba become the "Wicked Witch" that Dorothy eventually defeats? Is it a forced destiny? Is it a choice? That’s the mystery, isn’t it?
And what about the citizens of Oz? Are they going to start questioning the Wizard? Are they going to see Elphaba for who she really is? Or are they going to be too scared, too brainwashed?
The relationship between Elphaba and Glinda is going to be the heart of it, though. Even though they’re on different paths, their connection is what drives the story. They’re like two sides of the same coin, you know?
It’s going to be a story about identity. It’s going to be about challenging perceptions. It’s going to be about the choices we make when we’re pushed to our limits. And who gets pushed to their limits more than Elphaba? Nobody, that’s who.
I’m also hoping for some awesome visual effects. Oz is already so vibrant. Imagine what they can do with more magic, more fantastical creatures, more dramatic landscapes. My eyes are already ready.
So, to sum it up? Part Two of Wicked is going to be about rebellion. It’s going to be about truth being revealed. It’s going to be about Elphaba’s fight against the system, and Glinda’s struggle to find her own voice.
It’s going to be the payoff for all the setup in Part One. We’re going to see the consequences of everything that happened. And knowing the story, it’s going to be emotional. Get ready to cry. And probably cheer. A lot.
It’s going to explore the idea that maybe, just maybe, the “wicked” aren’t always wicked. And maybe, just maybe, the “good” have their own shades of gray. It’s the whole point of Wicked, really.
And who knows? Maybe we’ll get some new, iconic songs that we’ll be humming for years to come. Defying Gravity is already a classic. I’m expecting more of that magic.
